We teach students to trust their instincts, organize their thoughts, and self-edit with confidence and clarity.
Test Prep
You name it: SAT, ACT, GRE, AP, IB, GED. If it’s an initialism that’s keeping you up at night, let us demystify it for you. It’s not only about understanding the material—you need to be fluent in the language of standardized testing. Nor is it a simple matter of loading up on shiny tips and tricks for test day—you need to command the material. We hit that sweet spot transforms the big test from a monster into a method.
College Essays
How do you condense your personality and life experience into 650 words or less? Some of our favorite work is in helping students approach this very question. If your student doesn’t know where to start, or if they feel like their life “isn’t interesting” enough, get them the help they need to navigate this delicate craft. We’ve been at this for a while, and we have still never met a student whose story wasn’t interesting.
Spanish Language
You know that to improve your Spanish, you need a fluent teacher. But here’s what they never tell you: if you want to understand the rules of another language, you really need to get the rules of your own. Our Spanish tutors are more than totally fluent: our grammar instruction is such that our students learn things they didn’t even know about English. We offer AP and college-level reading, speaking, and writing help.
Study Skills
With the advent of learning management systems and the reduction of large assessments into a hundred tiny homeworks, students spend more brain power managing tasks than improving their skills or powers of critical thinking. We help students control their calendars, manage their assignments, and learn to study effectively while instilling in them an ethos for producing high-quality work.
